Hank Sherwood

I am a postdoctoral fellow in Psychoeducation, supervised by Dr. Alexa Martin-Storey. I earned my doctorate in the sociology of education from New York University. Prior to joining UdS, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin focusing on identity development and health among queer adolescents throughout Europe.

 

My research focuses on queer identity management processes—e.g., coming out, outness, identity concealment, and being outed—and how these experiences relate to the development and well-being of queer adolescents, with particular attention to the role of social and contextual factors.
